  1. I know it is an earlier Very Best compared to how many years it's been I love a few of the songs. I don't care for some. In heaven, I expect my specially-made Paxton Very Best will be much better. No offense, Tom. For example, I love "My Oklahoma Lullaby" and "My Pony Knows the Way" but I don't think either made this album. Issues/5(45).

  3. The Very Best Of Tom Paxton Tom Paxton. out of 5 stars I now have my own little girl and she will grow to love just like me. So if you want a CD to keep the kids and adults happy on the long car journeys then this is the one for you. I also was excited to finally discover the all the lyrics to "Going to the Zoo" as I recalled 5/5(7).

These are the songs that made Tom Paxton's name on the early-'60s Greenwich Village folk scene, but they're not the original versions -- instead they're re-recordings made in Not politically impassioned enough to be Phil Ochs, although the hymn-like "Peace Will Come" is a moving anti-war anthem, nor as inscrutably poetic as Bob Dylan, Paxton remained a second-string figure to the masses.
